Ladakh Vision Process

Context

Ladakh became a Union Territory in 2019 and is still building the planning frameworks its high-altitude ecology and society need. Like Himachal Pradesh, it faces choices about water, tourism, energy and livelihoods that will be hard to reverse once made.

HITA’s role

Following the SAMRIDH Himachal process, a similar vision exercise is now being initiated in Ladakh. HITA is involved at the start of the process; we will publish details here as the work takes shape.
